Manchester United Seeks Destiny With 19th League Title

With less than half the season left to go, can Manchester United now go on to claim the title and create history that would leave them as the most successful club domestically in English football? Since Scotsman Alex Ferguson took over decades ago, the Old Trafford club has poured its heart and soul into reaching the pinnacle of success both at home and abroad. Ferguson has delivered that in both emphatic and astounding fashion, even leading them to two Champions League trophies that are surely his crowning achievements during his time in charge of the Red Devils. Not only has he become the most successful football manager of all time, but many have made claims that he should be the greatest manager of all time, taking over the mantle from the legendary Bill Shankly of Liverpool.

Ironically, it is Liverpool from which Manchester United and Alex Ferguson have dedicated their time to replacing them as the best club not just in England but also the rest of Europe. They have done so for the most part, except the number of European trophies they have gathered. However, the most important record could finally be theirs and theirs alone – being the club with the most domestic league titles won. Both Manchester United and Liverpool are on a total of 18 titles each at the end of last season. This time, the Red Devils are breathtakingly close to their 19th title, which would surpass everything the Anfield Reds have achieved. The Merseyside fans are in despair while the Mancunians are anticipating gleefully. The club are once again involved in the thick of the title race and with recent developments off the field to the other contenders, it might leave them with a clear path to the Premier League title come May.
